One Day Cup semi-finals: Liam Dawson hits 142 as Somerset beat Yorkshire and Worcestershire win against Somerset

Liam Dawson's brilliant 142 helped Hampshire book their place in the Metro Bank One Day Cup final after beating Yorkshire by 18 runs (DLS Method) at North Marine Road in Scarborough in the semi-finals.

Hampshire, who won the competition in 2018, will face Worcestershire at Trent Bridge on September 20 after the Rapids beat Somerset at home.

Dawson's 142 from 116 balls helped steady Hampshire after they fell to 78-4 inside 20 overs with Scott Currie (61 not out) notching his maiden half-century, and Ben Mayes adding 37, as they posted 304-6 after being inserted.

Yorkshire's pace bowler Matt Milnes (3-73) was the pick of the bowlers, taking a three-for, with George Hill (2-52) and Ben Cliff (1-60) also chipping in.

In reply to Hampshire's 304-6, Pakistan opener Imam Ul-Haq (105 off 97 balls) also notched a century to get his side off to a solid start.

However, Currie (2-47) struck twice in the same over with Imam being run out and Finlay Bean (2) falling cheaply as Hampshire held Yorkshire to 235-8.

The rain arrived when Yorkshire were 43-0, causing a half-hour delay with Kyle Abbott (0-26) and Brad Wheal (1-33) sharing tight spells with the new ball.

Will Luxton then added 30 for Yorkshire before a second rain delay, which also lasted 30 minutes before Hill (16) and Harry Duke (19) were dismissed in consecutive deliveries to Wheal (1-33) and Dawson (2-55) respectively.

Dawson struck again to dismiss Milnes (3) to cap off the victory for Hampshire.

Worcestershire completed a 131-run (DLS Method) win over Somerset in the One Day Cup semi-finals at New Road to book a finals meeting with Hampshire.

After being inserted, Worcestershire posted 275-9 with opener Daniel Lategan (78) top-scoring for his side and Brett D'Oliveira (45) also contributing.

Somerset's Jack Leach (2-28) struck twice across 10 overs, but the pick of the bowlers was Ben Green (4-52), who took a four-wicket haul, claiming Kashif Ali (6), Henry Cullen (32), Matthew Waite (24), and Ben Allison (2).

In reply, Somerset's top-order struggled against pace bowler Khurram Shahzad (4-36) as they collapsed to 55-4 after 11 overs.

Somerset managed to climb to 108-7 from before rain intervened and were still more than 100 runs behind the DLS score.

Captain James Rew (47) added stability after play resumed, but they eventually collapsed to 141 all out as Worcestershire secured their place in the final.
